Central Coast-based producer / vocalist, Fontine has just unveiled thumping debut single ‘New’. It's his first offering and damn! we are impressed. Commanding deep brooding vocals likened to The National, Nick Cave and Jack Ladder, melded with hauntingly eclectic production inspired by Crystal Castles and Goldfrapp; Fontine’s debut single showcases a unique ability to combine dark sonic textures with pop sensibilities proficiently.

Keep your eyes peeled for Fontine’s accompanying video clip set to come out in the next few weeks and debut EP which will be out early next year. In the mean time, play this track on repeat.

For your ears: Nicole Millar - Wait

At the ripe age of 22 years, Nicole Millar already has a string of achievements under her belt, collaborating with everyone from Peking Duk (High) to Cosmo's Midnight (Phantasm) to Golden Features (Tell Me), as well as providing vocal supports to RÜFÜS and The Kite String Tangle. It has been a long wait (sorry) but the Sydney vocalist has finally delivered her first solo single Wait. Produced by Dan Farber, well-known for his quick-paced remixes for Mad Decent and Dim Mak, Wait has that lovely pop quality but also a brooding darkness throughout. Her Vocals are immediately showcased in the track; emotionally rich and well controlled, combined with ambient production and stamping percussion, you can get lost in this track. Once the guitar hits in the chorus - the track steps up and the 'air' diminishes; keeping you intrigued and rounds out an incredible track.

“I’ve taken some time off to write and record songs to develop my sound,” says Millar of the track. “Wait was written over a year ago. We wrote this track in a day but it went through a bit to get to the sound I was looking for. When I was over in the states I met a producer. We really got along and I felt he understood the artist in me. He then finished off Wait and I’m so happy with the outcome I’m excited to show everyone this track after the journey it’s been through.”

Check it out:

For your ears: Ribongia - Journeys

Ribongia is a good friend of Jungle's and somewhat part of the furntitue, rolling in & out of the 'warehouse' on a daily basis. The new single entitled 'Journeys' I can only assume has been inspired by his recent overseas endeavors... hold up - I'll just go out the back and ask him... turns out it "reflects the structure of the song - its an ever evolving life-form... like a journey" and that makes total sense, the song that doesn't seem to have a structure (but still works perfectly) constantly building, keeping you suprised (and on the dance-floor). It's a frenzy of African-inflused percussion and simply... brilliant. I cannot contain my excitement for whats to come from Ribongia and so glad to hear we might be getting another single before the year is out. We originally planned to hold off the release of Through Your Eyes until next year, but we've been sitting on a heap of new music for far too long while working on this album and the time just felt right for the world to hear this one. We've been so protective of what we've been working on that we forgot about the most important thing, which is actually getting music out. We've got a few more things on the way."

Looking forward to hearing what has to come from these boys with a stack of new music on its way.

Have a listen:
